Engineered Foam Products division in Spennymoor was ranked in the top 10 in 3 of the 4 Ernst & Young Manufacturers League tables.

Launched in 1995, the EY Manufacturers’ League was established to celebrate all that is great about manufacturing in the Northeast, UK. More than 100 businesses compete for a spot in the top 10 by submitting quarterly performance data to the 4 league tables.

The league’s 4 tables are:

  • Turnover
  • Efficiency
  • Export
  • Apprenticeships

For Q116, Spennymoor was placed 8th for turnover, 1st for export and 2nd for apprenticeships.

Manufacturing is increasingly identified as a key driver of economic recovery through exports. The League is intended to bring manufacturers together to share experience and success stories to help fuel growth in the sector. The League is open to companies with manufacturing operations in the Northeast and a turnover in excess of £1m.

John Cant, Sales & Marketing Director at Engineered Foam Products  comments “Spennymoor plant has achieved success by promoting creativity in the workplace and encouraging our people to believe that there is always a higher level to strive to. Being part of the Manufacturers’ League has given us an opportunity to showcase how empowering employees to improve manufacturing efficiency and increase productivity brings business growth, which in turn will attract investment to contribute to the UK economy.”
