Materials and benefits that's sure to impress

Whether cut block, sheet or complex shape moulding, our range of expanded foams offer a high level of customisation and design flexibility which is certain to impress. EPS and EPP are available in wide range of grades allowing you to achieve a set density range and application-specific enhancements like flame retardancy, electrostatic discharge protection and even colour choice.

Material Properties

From packaging to components, industrial to retail, expanded foams have a wide range of benefits to exceed expectations and ensure the success of any design project no matter the application. Discover the properties of expanded foams below and see how they can be engineered to enhance your end product.

Energy Absorption

Excellent resilience and cushioning qualities, EPP recovers to its original shape after impact.

Insulation icon

Insulation

Outstanding thermal insulation for both hot and cold applications.

Lightweight

Significant potential for component weight-saving leading to impressive fuel efficiencies in any mode of transport.

Multiple impact icon

Multi Impact Protection

Recoverable material that can sustain multiple impacts without damage.

Strength to Weight Ratio

Durable with a high strength to weight ratio

100% Recyclable

Fully recyclable. Recycled material grades containing granulated end-of-life parts are available.

Sound Deadening

Can dampen absorb or block sound. Porous EPP can provide enhanced acoustic insulation.

Compressive Strength

Withstands substantial loads with minimal shape deformation - EPS load bearing 70-250kPa.

Buoyancy

The high air content of our closed cell foams makes them ideal for floatation applications.

Explore materials

From packaging to components, industrial to retail, expanded foams have a wide range of benefits to exceed expectations and ensure the success of any design project no matter the application. Moulded foams offer a high degree of dimensional tolerance making them ideally suited to applications requiring a precision fit. Sustainable, expanded foams are 100% recyclable and contain no CFC’s or volatile organic compounds.

Expanded Polystyrene

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) has excellent compressive strength, thermal performance and good first drop cushioning and impact absorption performance. Available in a density range from EPS70-400 (18-200g/l) EPS consists of 98% air.

Expanded Polypropylene

Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) can sustain multiple impacts whilst retaining its shape and offers impressive weight saving benefits. Available in black in a wide range of material densities from 18-250g/l, EPP is also available in a spectrum of colours.

Arcel

ARCEL is a durable, versatile material and is very popular due to its bead size and density range (between 18-50 g/l). As a co-polymer of polyethylene & polystyrene, ARCEL provides both flexibility and strength and exhibits tough puncture resistance.

Add a splash of colour

Not everything is black and white, it’s pink, green, orange and blue too! Raw material can be pre-coloured or pigments introduced during the expansion process without any adverse effects on the performance of the moulded product.

Consider injecting EPP and EPS parts with some colour for branding, product identification or to simply improve the final aesthetic and visual appeal.

Material Texturing

Look beyond the beads by adding texture

New technology provides a range of different surfaces and textures on EPS and EPP moulded parts where aesthetics are crucial. With these advancements, your lightweight, energy absorbing components need no longer be hidden thanks to new surfacing technology that can achieve a class ‘A’ surface finish you can be proud of.
