Lightweight Expanded Polypropylene (EPS) used for HVAC ducts is a durable solution to prevent heat loss and speed the installation of HVAC systems.

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is used for many products and is a versatile closed-cell foam bead that offers an overall unique range of properties, including thermal insulation and exceptionally high strength to weight.

Expanded polystyrene moulded foam is ideal for many energy efficient HVAC applications, due to its design versatility, strength and superior thermal performance. The lightweight nature of EPS makes components easy to handle, which speeds installations. In addition, moulded foam components help to minimise heat lost and reduce condensation. To meet building regulations, construction companies can obtain approval of EPS foam to be used as an alternative material for HVAC systems.

In 2017, Verplas Limited, a leading ventilation ducting manufacturer, was awarded “The Best Services Product Category” in the prestigious House Builder Product Awards 2017, for their Self-Seal Thermal Ducting system. The Self-seal Thermal EPS ducts were supplied by Foam Products in the UK.

Verplas Ltd Thermal Ducting benefits include:

  • Minimises heat loss
  • Compatibility with chosen heat recovery system
  • Prevents condensation
  • Quick push-fit technology
  • No need for extra connections or components
  • Reduced install time
  • Reduced cost in materials
  • Lower leakage
  • Strength and durability

Foam Products is proud to have played an important role in the manufacturing of this ducting range and looks forward to assisting other HVAC manufacturers in the development of heat recovery systems for energy efficient homes.
