Engineered Foam Products is putting employee mental health front and centre with trained Mental Health First Aiders and a new Health & Wellbeing Working Group

At Engineered Foam Products (EFP), employee mental health isn’t an afterthought, it’s central to how we work. We know that when people feel supported in both their physical and mental wellbeing, teams perform better together. That’s why we’ve introduced Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs) across our business and launched a new Health & Wellbeing Working Group to keep employee wellbeing at the top of our agenda.

Our MHFAs are trained colleagues who offer a confidential listening ear, practical reassurance and initial support, guiding anyone experiencing mental health problems or emotional distress to the appropriate help and support. Our MHFAs provide a vital first point of contact, helping to normalise conversations about mental health and ensuring people someone to talk to whenever its needed.

To build further on this commitment, our Health & Wellbeing Working Group made up of our sixteen MHFAs will meet on a regular basis to set clear goals and priorities for our people. The plan that we can frequently share updates with the wider business to drive continuous improvement and keep wellbeing visible in everyday life at EFP.

Margaret Cracknell - Head of People & Culture

When we look out for one another, we build trust, resilience, and a culture where people feel supported, valued and never alone. Wellbeing isn’t just a priority it’s part of who we are. Together we’re creating a supportive place to work and a great place to belong.

As part of our ongoing awareness efforts, we’re also sharing simple self-care tips that can help manage stress: get moving and eat well, schedule time for things you enjoy, learn a new skill to boost confidence, share how you’re feeling, and set boundaries by switching off from distractions.

By investing in employee mental health, Mental Health First Aid, and a proactive wellbeing strategy, EFP is creating a safer, more inclusive workplace, one where people feel valued, supported, and ready to do their best work every day.
